The Full Story Behind This Prewar Reno on the Upper West Side
This Prewar Residential NYC renovation focused on enhancing a functional open-plan kitchen and creating a seamless connection to the private outdoor space—ideal for modern family living. The goal of this design-build project was to optimize layout and flow without relocating key appliances, including a gas range and vented hood.
We extended the peninsula cabinetry to face the Dining Room, removed outdated bar-height walls, and widened the kitchen entrance to improve sightlines and usability. The result is a bright, open kitchen renovation perfect for families with small children, designed to encourage interaction and connection.
The outdoor patio was also completely reimagined. We gutted the existing space and installed a new bluestone patio, cedar fencing, integrated LED lighting, and a motion-sensor security floodlight—bringing year-round utility and charm to the outdoor area.
This Prewar gut renovation is a great example of efficient, high-impact design-build work, completed in under three months with exceptional results.
