6 W 77th St, Master Bath/BR, NYC

Construction Duration: 2 months

Functionality and Details: Master Bath/Bed

Even with a larger bathroom footprint, this outdated bath needed a major renovation.  Even though the basic fixture location was not changing, we used every inch and as much sustainable material as possible to transform this Master Bath.  Ripping out partial walls and opening up the space, adding the frameless starphire glass doors also helped the shower feel larger – it now has a 34″ x 41″ interior shower footprint. To achieve the pre-war design, we used porcelain that looked like marble tile with the moldings to finish outside corners, pencils and top rail.  Caesarstone countertop, windowsill, door saddle and cubby details for perfect finishing touches. The dropped ceiling lighting design, beveled mirror surrounded by the matching stone frame above the makeup vanity/hamper cabinet and light fixtures were seamless and made the space feel larger.

Changing the closet and bath entrance pocket doors, all door hardware, finishing and repairing the existing wood floors to have the same level from the Master Suite hall through the bedroom helped it feel bigger as well.  We had to replace the existing built panels with removable panels for maintenance of AC and radiators and of course, fresh paint.

Now this Master Bedroom Suite feels like the oasis it should be!
